Short description: Biology and breeding of cyprinid and salmonid fish environmental viral, bacterial and parasitological diseases; technique of clinical examination and necropsy.
Full description: Anatomy and physiology of Salmonidae, cyprinidae and others differentiation between families and species. Basics of carp and trout husbandry. Description of symptoms and development of fish diseases. Viral, bacterial, parasitic fungal and environmental diseases. Prophylactic and therapy.

Learning outcomes: Knowledge: - should be able to identify various species of fresh water fish. Should know the basics of husbandry of the carp and salmon family. - full understanding of the laws relating to husbandry and production of farm fish - can describe the clinical signs of ill health - propose and properly plan preventive procedures and treatment of disease Skills: - evaluating the heath and status of fish by examining environmental and clinical parameters - basic approach to pathology and parasitology - the use of prophylaxis and treatment to prevent disease Social competences: - cooperates and liase with producers
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: 50% rating from classes + 50% rating from lectures (test knowledge)
